Background

Martine van Leeuwen was born in New Zealand and currently lives and works in the Netherlands. Her experiences of nature growing up on a sheep farm are a major inspiration for her work. Martine completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2004 and Bachelor of Education of Fine Arts in 2007 in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Martine has exhibited her work at the art fairs KunstRAI, Amsterdam and Rotterdam Contemporary Art Fair and in the Kunstlijn Haarlem and the open ateliers Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam and in galleries such as Gallery 9 in Amsterdam, Kunsthuis Permanente in Groningen, Galerie Bas in Sneek, Kunstruimte 09 in Groningen and Galerie In de Oude School in Stroe.
